About Takanawa Konjaku Monogatari

It is an area project in which Takanawa Regional City Office of Minato City spreads the charms of the Takanawa area (Mita 4- & 5-chome, Takanawa, Shirokane and Shirokanedai) with the residents members of the executive committe.

We are collecting old photos for recording the history of our town, keep records by fixed-point observation and make presentations in exhibitions etc. We also plan and manage events such as town walking and learning meeting etc.

The Ambassador’s Wife is a Member of Takanawa Konjaku Monogatari! An Embassy That Engages with the Local Community

Minato City, and in particular the Takanawa, Shirokane, and Mita areas, is home to many foreign embassies. One of them is the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic, a country located in Central Asia. The Ambassador’s wife participates in community activities as a member of Takanawa Konjaku Monogatari. Let us introduce the Kyrgyz Republic with photos. It’s a country that shares similarities with Japan, evoking a sense of familiarity and closeness among the Japanese people.

Valuable historical materials on the history of Japanese automotive culture have been discovered.

From the Taisho era to the mid-Showa era, the present Minato City was one of the most advanced automobile-related districts in Japan, where importers, parts manufacturers and repairers were concentrated. In particular, the Shirokane and Takanawa areas abounded with repairers in those days. This time, some materials related to that period have been discovered. We will mainly introduce valuable photographs.
