No.245 Back alley, Shirokane 6-chome (1)

A back alley in Shirokane. The alley is behind the Institute of Infectious Diseases (now the Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo). In around 1968 there was a considerable number of homes here that had managed to evade the attacks of the Pacific War, and children were able to play in the alley. It was a leisurely place, despite being in the city center.
