There is a well that is known as the morning glory well. In the first year of the Bun'ei era this village faced a major drought, and without a drop of water, plants withered, crops could not be cultivated and the village people suffered. It is said that Nichiren Shonin (Saint Nichiren) took pity on the villagers and spent some time reciting the Lotus Sutra, and upon him praying the ground split open in an instant and fresh water overflowed, enabling the villagers to narrowly escape death.
