National Important Cultural Property (Building). This was the first Obaku sect temple in Edo, and its construction began in 1670. With the main building's roof designed in irimoya-style (hip-and-gable roof) and covered in hongawara tiles, it is a Buddhist hall is in the style of Obaku architecture. Near the entrance to Zuishoji Temple, many old wooden houses could be seen, but they have now been rebuilt. When we were in elementary school, we somehow found it scary to go inside and I remember running through the building. After the war, I also remember it being used as a kindergarten for a time.
