No.518 The well of the morning glory (1)

This was a location visited by Kaga no Chiyo, the famous haiku poet who wrote the well-known haiku “The morning glory! It has taken the well bucket, I must seek elsewhere for water”. The story goes that she wrote this famous haiku after seeing that a morning glory was entwined around the rope of the well’s well bucket and two or three of its flowers were blooming.
